Dyson does a lot of extremely good things, but historically, robot vacuum cleaners have not been one of them. Its current effort – the Dyson 360 VIS NAV – fell flat thanks to its lack of features, at a high unjustified price and inexcusable navigation problems.
So I was more than a little surprised to see, hidden in the current tsunami of the new launches of Dyson, a new emptiness of the robot. On paper, the Dyson Spot + Scrub Ai seems much more promising than its predecessors. Frankly, you have to be: the market moves to a cheeky speed, and today’s best robot vacuum cleaners are incredibly capable and filled with features.
The USP is in the name: This bot uses AI to locate stains, then go back and forth until they know that they left. Dyson says that it can identify nearly 200 objects and substances, using and a camera fueled by AI and a vibrating green laser, eliminating it with dirt similar to that found on the soil heads of the best manual empty of today’s Dyson.
I obtained an overview of the unveiled event of Dyson in Berlin (running at IFA 2025) and the main thought that struck me is the size. This bot is really very large compared to competing models – both in width and height of the robot itself, and the size of the quay. Not one for small houses, then.
Inside, there is Lidar and “ vision of the ia ” for cartography and navigation – something that this model really needs to do well, because all the fanciful features of the world will not compensate for a Robovac which cannot find its way, as proved by the Vis Nav.
Dyson Robovacs previous has completely focused on the vacuum cleaner bit, but it is the first that can also clean. In addition, the configuration of cleaning looks good: there is a roller mop which is continuously nourished with fresh water because it turns, and it can start on one side by 1.6 inches / 4 cm to get closer to the edges of the parts. I saw that the extension of the mop in action – take a look in the video above.
This is a relatively new style of Robovac Mop, but it looks like a winner. We have been impressed on the Eureka J20, and it becomes more popular among the new versions – a particularly advanced version appears on the new Dreame Robovac, for example.
Skinny, nasty and clean machine
The other great surveillance with the previous Robovac of Dyson was that he only came with the most basic quays, who loaded the bot but nothing else. Here, the brand has exceeded and beyond to correct the problem. The platform accompanying the spot + scrub AI can not only empty the dust, but also fill the on -board water tanks and wash and dry the mop pads.
In fact, Dyson has introduced part of its considerable expertise on the vacuum cleaner in the automatic configuration of employment, adding cyclones and using a bagless system that deletes the discomfort and the continuous cost of buying new bags.
I am a little disappointed to see Dyson opt for a more generic look here. While the form of previous was a divisor (Techradar’s criticism loved him; nobody else did it), the purple blue colors scheme was distinctly Dyson, and I was taken enough with the fact that you seemed that you put a Dyson Stick in a hydraulic press.
Here, there are a few touches of red and purple, no more wink to the empty cyclones at the top of the quay trash can, but it is not as unique as the Vis Nav. Although a design decision that can raise some eyebrows is the transparent dustin in the platform. Dyson is convinced that everyone wants to see what has been sucked – I will leave you to make your own call on this subject.
If you can overcome the size, the next obstacle could be a price, which at the time of writing is TBC. The brand can be fired by loading a bonus on the markets where it opens the way – its wireless stick vacuum cleaners really push the limits with regard to performance and features, but Dyson does not have the same cachet in the vacuum space of the robot. I am interested in seeing how this bot is positioned on the wider market.
