- Spotify famous for 10 years of Discover Weekly by deploying two new major upgrades
- With a new design overhaul, discover the weekly reading lists now have gender control functions
- The new upgrades began to deploy
The Spotify Discover Weekly Playlist was the first platform’s personalized music discovery feature, and it has just received two new upgrades for premium subscribers to celebrate its 10th anniversary – including a well -necessary gender filter function.
Since 2015, Discover Weekly has been one of the most used features of the musical streaming service for New Music Discovery, and has been the Landmark feature of Spotify, paving the way for functions such as day lists and DJ AI.
With weekly updates that show you a range of new songs and artists, Spotify described it as “the playlist that makes it ate Monday”. Although Discover Weekly has never been my choice of choice, it is undeniable that he changed the game with a new music discovery on Spotify, and its new upgrade makes it even more a personal experience.
New look, new genre filters
To start, Discover Weekly has a new visual upgrade that stands out from other reading lists in your Made For You hub, like your outing radar. In addition to the weekly Playlist updates, its graphics will also be updated every Monday, giving you a new look each time – but it is not the only exciting upgrade.
Before moving to Discover Weekly, Spotify has provided sub-genre filter functions to loved songs, to the offline backup playlist and new Hub publication. Now Discover Weekly receives the same treatment.
In the new upgrade, you will now be able to use new control functions at the top of your weekly discover reading list, allowing you to search up to five different genres depending on your listening history. Depending on the genre you select, this will generate a 30 -track reading list to get closer to your next favorite song or artist.
As mentioned, Discover Weekly is not one of those features of Spotify that was able to attract me – I don’t think I used it since its launch 10 years ago.
But one of my favorite additions to Spotify is the function of controlling the sub-genres, which I constantly use in other reading lists and hubs, and now that he has found a new house in Discover Weekly, I will have to rethink.
How to find Discover Weekly
Before diving into your newly updated weekly discovery reading list, make sure you have installed the latest version of the Spotify application. If you do, you are free to dive directly.
Access the search center in the Spotify application, and from there, scroll down slightly down and press your hub for you. Once you are again, scroll down until you see the section entitled Discover New Music, which will show your exit radar and Discover Weekly Playlists. Press Discover Weekly and start your trip to the new discovery of music.
