- Hoverair Aqua is the first camera of the world’s waterproof voltage
- Records the video at 4K 100 IPS from a CMOS sensor of 1/1.3 ince
- Weighs less than 249g
I think that the camera drone market is about to undergo a sea change (very expected word game), thanks to the next Aqua hoverair of Zero Zero Robotics. Turate on the company’s website, this small orange quadcopter of rescue jackets is the first really surprising leaflet that I have seen for ages.
As a product critic, I have tested dozens of drones in the last decade, and although they are better in terms of flight capacity, battery life and camera performance, it is not often that a new announcement presents something completely unforeseen.
The Aqua does this, being the first native drone of water for the masses. Most drones should be transported by plane very carefully around water bodies, as the reflective surface can power their safety sensors and cause a dunk in the drink. And none of the previous drones that I examined is even built to fly a rainy day, and even less land in a lake.
It is not the Hoverair Aqua. Designed to be completely waterproof, it launches and landed on the water. In fact, it seems to be designed specifically to capture water sports such as kayak, standing paddle and wind surfing, automatically following its subject, a bit like the previous drones of Zero Zero, the Hoverair X1 and the Hoverair X1 Pro.
To help him with this goal, he comes with a level 7 wind resistance and a top speed of 55 km / h / 34 MPH, which should give him the capacity to follow the rhythm of the fairly quick forms of water transport. The rest of the specifications and characteristics of the Aqua remain under the Wraps for the moment, but with the now officially confirmed drone, more details should soon emerge.
Wave of the future
Although the Hoverair Aqua looks like a more niche product and more specialist than the Hoverair X1 or, say, the DJI Mini 4 Pro, we do not yet know how useful it could be for the land launch.
The fact that it shakes things and that taking camera drones in a new direction does it, for me, one of the most exciting drones that I have seen in recent years. As a person who lives on the coast, the idea of driving a drone on the water rather than keeping it at a safety distance is very attractive.
I must add that the Aqua is not the only innovative drone to come this year, with the first leading model equipped with an antigravity camera, also planned. But it was quickly climbed at the top of the list of future drones (or rumors to come) I am the most exciting to take for a test flight.
If nothing else, it will give me the perfect excuse to finally go out on this paddle board which has gathered dust in my spare room. And maybe it’s time to finally press the trigger on the purchase of this combination?
Just when the drone market was likely to become a little outdated, Zero Zero Robotics gave things a bright orange blow in the arm. I will impatiently scan the horizon for the next series of details on the Hoverair Aqua, so be sure to come back soon for more news.
