Microsoft integration of the O1 model of Openai into Copilot last week brought the “thinking deeper” functionality to all users. Everyone had the day mapped with things to do, their prices, their ideas to know where to eat and stay and approximate the costs. If I planned such a trip as first time in London, I could think of much worse as a outline to use before leaving.

For my last experience, I went as simple as possible and I asked Copilot to describe a perfect first date. As you can see above, the answer is formulated in a very human style. The co -pilot without the O1 model is certainly faster but generally less deep too. It’s great for simple tasks, but it can mean that there is a need for many manual adjustments. The co -pilot with O1 is smarter, more thoughtful and much better to maintain the context, but it sometimes gets lost in its own shine. That said, it looks more like a real AI collaborator. So, if you need deep information on AI, asking Copilot to think more deeply is a great idea. Do not use it when you are in a hurry, because in these circumstances, a brilliant Overthinker is not ideal.
