Peshawar:
An Intelligence Office (IB) was martyred in a targeted attack on acts of unknown aggressor on the Warsak road in Peshawar on Wednesday, police announced.
Inspector Shahid Anwar was shot dead, while he was going to service. His vehicle was dismissed within the limits of the Machni Gate police station. Police said he had succumbed to several ball injuries when he was taken to the hospital.
The initial investigation has shown a Kalashnikov rifle, police, was used during the shooting. It was the second target that killed an incident in Peshawar in a month. Last month, unidentified attackers targeted a local Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam chief, Maulana Qazi Zahor Ahmed.
Funeral prayers for martyred inspector Shahid Anwar were offered on the police lines. Peshawar Pashawar Qasim Ali Khan, the Director General’s Director of IB, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Arshad Ali Khan Tareen, senior police officials and martyr’s relatives attended the funeral.
