In case you have missed it, we are here with our largest number of technological news of the week so that you can inform yourself in a flash.
This week, we saw a large PlayStation network failure (PSN), tried the thinnest foldable in the world and was treated to a new Apple product teaser – with the launch of Wednesday next week. All this is explained below.
Once you have caught up the news of the week, consult our choices for the 7 new films and television programs to broadcast and more this weekend (February 14) – and the last episode of the Podcast Techradar which is all about game.
1. We have prepared to meet the new member of the Apple family
Tim Cook teased a brand new Apple apparatus with an article telling us to “prepare to meet the most recent family member” on February 19.
Nothing indicates what this new device will be – our best bet is that it is the iPhone of the fourth generation of the fourth generation, but it could also be a new Mac, a Second generation Airtag, a new iPad or something completely different.
The only other clue is the image that we have shared above, which shows the Apple logo in front of a sort of circle – although it does not have a lot of help to guess what is launched, so we will simply have to Connect Wednesday to see what Apple presents.
2. The PlayStation network crashed
If you tried to access the PSN last weekend, you probably had problems, starting at 6 p.m. on Friday February 7 at 6:58 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, the service was completely down.
The players were locked from access to online features for their games – including many beta players from Monster Hunter Wilds who could not even download the customer if they had not already installed it. If your game of choice was only online, it was completely inaccessible.
As an apology, Sony said that all members of PlayStation Plus will automatically receive 5 additional days of service and blamed the failure of “an operational problem”. Anyway, many PS5 players are always disappointed. For more details, here is our full report on the PS extension more than 5 days and the reaction to it.
3. The playing state gave us a reason to love PlayStation again
The last state of play was broadcast on February 12, exploding with a real dam in the next PlayStation 5 outputs. One of the greatest protruding facts was the revelation of TidesA piracy and frantic slab game taking place in a beautiful post-apocalyptic London ravaged by fantastic creatures inspired by the Arthurian legend. We also finally obtained the exit dates for the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater And Borderlands 4which arrive respectively on August 28 and September 23.
In addition to that, we have obtained confirmation of a new Stellar blade DLC, which will add a selection of rather lean outfits for the protagonist Eve inspired by the Victory goddess: Nikke Mobile game. It was above lots of smaller titles with cool air, like the frantic shooter Metal Eden – That we were lucky to try before the flow.
The most controversial news, however, was the announcement of The days have passed remastered. This PS5 port of the 2019 PS4 zombie game, which is already fully playable on the latest Sony console thanks to compatibility behind, improves its visuals and adds new modes. Fans are divided on the sentence of sentence, some wishing that the resources of developer Bend Studio will be directed to new titles, rather than improved versions of things that we have already played.
4. The PowerBeats Pro 2 A landed, and they are great
This week, Apple finally unveiled the new PowerBeats Pro 2 earpiece highly anticipated by Beats, and we were practical in the gym to find out how they compare themselves as a training flower.
The new model brings an excellent new design that is safer and more comfortable than ever. The audio is solid, just like noise noise, and the battery life is better than ever with up to 10 hours of play.
In our practice, we really enjoyed using them to work, but we cannot quite understand the new functionality of heart rate monitoring. It is a very cool and impressive technology, but Apple confirmed to us that for iPhone and Android users, a smartwatch with heart rate data will be priority. As such, there is not really an attraction here for people who already have a smartwatch.
They are always excellent training headphones, and we are delighted to see the HRM functionality on AirPods later this year, but the way the functionality is currently working is a bit of a shoemaker.
5. We tried the thinnest folding in the world
Oppo has officially revealed the N5 discovery, the new folding book in the world in the world. Although most of the details are always under the wraps, Oppo has shared that the phone is only 8.93 mm when folded – barely thicker than an iPhone 16 pro Max – and weighs 229 g, This is actually five grams lighter than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. We expect more details on this futuristic foldable when it was launched on the world markets on February 20.
During a recent practical event, Techradar’s mobile IT staff writer, Jamie Richards, learned with the Oppo Find N5, finding that it is a clear winner on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 in terms of ergonomics. The latest rumors indicate a folded thickness of 4.2 mm, which would make the phone thinner than any folding the Huawei Mate XT folding device three times. We will have the last details when they arrive, so be sure to follow our phone coverage.

7. Captain America 4 was too afraid to take off
The first Marvel film of 2025 is there – but, to tell the truth, it is not very good. Captain America: Brave New World spread its wings and stole in theaters, but the first outing on the big screen of Sam Wilson, because the holder hero is not as tall as we had hoped. You can find out more about the reasons why this is the case in Captain America of the Senior Entertainment Journalist Tom Power: Brave New World Review. Rather than spending your money on a ticket to see it in your local theater, you may want to wait until Captain America 4 is making its debut in streaming again on Disney Plus.
