Google E / S starts next week to inaugurate a new era of Android (prepare for important news from AI, XR and Android 16), but before that, we still have a lot of technological news to cover these last seven days.
Samsung launched an ultra-thin phone, Dji gave us a drone the best in its category and the Boombox returned. To make up for all this and more, scroll down to see the seven largest technological stories of the week.
Once you are all caught up, be sure to consult our choices for the seven new films and television programs to watch this weekend (May 16).
We touched the edge of the galaxy
To watch
After months of teasers, we finally went by hand with the Galaxy S25 Edge, and as our practical review calls it, the Samsung phone for people who like to hate Samsung phones.
As Philip Berne, American mobile publisher wrote, “The Galaxy S25 Edge is the solution to a very simple formula. Take a Galaxy S25 Plus. Shave 1.5 mm from the thickness by removing the zoom camera and narrowing the battery. Add a 200MP camera sensor. Wrap it in Titanium. Voila: Galaxy S25 Edge!
Thinness and lightness are something you need to experience for yourself. Design has already conquered several of our writers and our editor -in -chief of social media, who believe that not only looks fantastic, but feels good in your hand.
DJI Mavic 4 Pro has taken off
We have tested the last DJI drone, and he certainly impressed by performance, a fantastic speed and power, which makes him up and down the best Mavic drone to this day.
This is why our DJI Mavic 4 pro examination awarded him 5 stars.
The camera can be tilted in almost all directions, which makes it super versatile, it has a fantastic triple objective configuration, and the largest battery means that you can drive it longer between loads, which means that it offers a degree of creative options unequaled for your next film.
It’s not just an excellent DJI drone, maybe it’s the best drone you can buy right now.
Garmin reveals a pair of new drilling watches
We expected a new Garmin Foreunner to fall very soon, but Garmin went and surprised us with two new specialized racing watches. The Garmin Foreunner 570 and Garmin Forerunner 970 offer new tools, such as a speaker and a microphone (all the better to take fast calls for sale while training), a new evening report and Garmin’s most brilliant Amoled displays to date. The 970 wraps additional features such as a titanium telescope, new unique metrics such as racing tolerance and an ECG function. If that is not enough, we have also obtained a new heart rate monitor, the HRM 600, which can work with the 970 to generate these advanced metrics.
These are flashy and cool stuff, but these devices are not cheap: the 570 costs $ 549.99 / £ 459.99 $ 999 at the 970 clock at $ 749.99 / £ 629.99 £ 1,399 at. We look forward to testing, but our first instinct is that one or the other would be a big boost for the serious runners and the owners of, let’s say, the Forersner 945 much older – however, those who have more recent Garmin watches will probably not be tempted to upgrade.
The Boombox is back
Do not call it a return.
The new WE Are Rewind GB-001 is a good faith cassette with modern upgrades like Bluetooth 5.4, a 3,000 mAh battery perfect for 10 hours of speakers and 104 W of power-more than our classic Boombox never had.
It looks like everything you might ask, frankly, perfectly combining the 2020 and 1980s in a package that we are very happy to try when we can. We know that it will be launched at the very reasonable £ 379 / € 449 (around $ 505 / $ 781 in), but for the moment, there is no confirmed release date.
Streaming has had a big week
It was another week in the world of entertainment. Indeed, not only was we entitled to a new trailer for Superman and the first official teaser of the Ironheart TV program in Marvel, but also a wealth of major announcements on the commercial program based on this year’s advertisements.
And when we say big, we want it. According to the news that Max will be failed HBO Max in mid-2025, and a whole series of television program renewals by Netflix, there was a lot to read in last week.
As huge as it is, however, we were very impressed by the Disney Upfront 2025 presentation. If you’ve missed them, you can catch up with the seven biggest Disney + and Hulu ads here. Believe us when we say you want to do it too!
Google gave Android a youthful cure
Before Google I / O next week, Google has hosted Android program, offering us an overview of the upcoming interface changes with Android 16.
We have not seen any new devices execute the software (URGH!) But the new expressive guidelines for hardware 3 call for in -depth use of color, motion effects and a multitude of visual clues that have the impression of targeting 18-24 year olds – Read: the most loyal fans of iPhone.
In his official blog article, Google says: “It’s time to go beyond the” clean “and” boring “conceptions to create interfaces that connect with people at an emotional level.”
We will have to see how this approach takes place when Android 16 will start to deploy later this year.
Apple Carplay Ultra finally hit the road
Apple’s new generation carplay system was to land in 2024, but after a extensive software stand, it has finally arrived – well, if you have a new Aston Martin SUV, at least.
Carplay Ultra is currently only available on the new Aston Martin DBX, but its beginnings have given us a taste of what happens in other cars (including those of Hyundai, Kia, etc.). And it is a smooth iPhone style software experience that takes control of the infotainment system for your car.
As with iOS, you can adapt the color diagrams and carplay wallpapers, but you can also change the climate, radio stations and heated seats, all of the same place. It is time, but I hope that we will not have to wait another year for it to obtain a wider deployment.
