The videos of Windows Concept are very popular these days, because it is intriguing to take a look at what could be if Microsoft took a different approach with its operating system – and another has just shown “Windows 12.2” no less.
Betanews spotted this latest video of “Ar 4789” concept video, a YouTuber who regularly publishes this type of visions of the way Microsoft could run Windows. If you are wondering why this is called Windows 12.2, it is because the YouTuber has already published a socket on Windows 12 a few months ago – it is a refinement.
In any case, show the video below and see what you do with the concept, remembering that it’s just that – it’s not a mod, there are no installation files, and it is not based on leaks in Microsoft or anything at a distance.

Analysis: an intelligent concept – but the future of the windows will probably be very different
Overall, youtuber’s vision on the Windows 12 interface seems really clean and rationalized, and I like this atmosphere. There is also a cheeky reference to Apple’s liquid glass design, with the aero effect (transparency) of Windows Vista in evidence (remember all the Battle of Microsoft of Barbs, although I already said it, I do not think that it is a very just stance – and no doubt, Apple was made first with the Aqua design in the Tour du Millen interface).
Indeed, the Windows 7 theme applied in the video seems also tasty, and I also really like some of the nuances, such as the choice of implementations of task bars (two smaller versions, as well as floating or moored tasks, or even options for a Windows 7 or 10 bar). The start menu obtains a similar treatment and a level of intelligent customization as a whole.
I want Microsoft to adopt some of these ideas, but let’s face it – the probability of this is remotely at non -existing (and it is a charitable assessment).
Indeed, I would say that the probability that Windows 12 appears in the near future (ISH) is also low in probability issues. For what? Although Windows 12 rumors have continued to circulate here and there, I think whatever the stage that Microsoft takes with the next embodiment of Windows – no matter what it might call – will have to be a great stride forward.
Indeed, Windows 11 was considered a Windows 10 Reskin on arrival, and there is certainly a truth there. Under the work of fresh paint, many of the Windows 11 basic features and basic functions have been about the same as Windows 10 (even if many have been changed under the hood – even more with Windows 11 24h2 – but you do not see that, although there are advantages such as better security, for example).
And even today, there is a feeling that I generally see by reading various online forums that Windows 11 is really not very different from Windows 10 – So why upgrade? There is no important reason to do so (and many of the new brightest features of Windows 11 are for Copilot + PCS only, anyway).
Okay, you must therefore upgrade soon, of course, with the end of life of Windows 10 in sight – unless you register for extended updates, and I think there is a good argument to do it (because you can get an additional year of security updates for free).
Where am I going with all this? Well, if Windows 12 arrives relatively soon within the time of deployment of the operating system, it will not be very different from Windows 11. Just as the concept that we see here, it will be largely the same – although we can hope for innovations of design and personalization in the direction of what the YouTuber suggests.
In this scenario, however, Windows 10 flashes in Windows 11 which decreases in Windows 12 – they are all a size, as they say. And yes, of course, perhaps Microsoft will fall for more modest iterative upgrades for its operating system in the long term in this vein. However, this is not a great look in terms of innovation – and I think that the software giant is looking to make a big splash with AI. Indeed, business leaders tell us about that already.
This is why Microsoft could simply not be bothering with Windows 12 – and simply keep Windows 11 on the road on annual updates – although it works to make a big starter with Windows AI, or Windows Copilot, or whatever it is much more closely, it will be an AI operating system (it will not be Windows 12, I don’t think it again declaration of a type).
If Microsoft really wants to sell the AI - and I think there is an abundance of evidence of this, including key chatter of the best executives – the next version of the windows will have snake copilot tentacles in many more corners and will push us all kinds of new tips related to AI.
Consequently, the new generation windows will probably be very different from the concept we see here – but I hope Microsoft could take at least an inspiration from the ideas broadcast on YouTube here, because I am a fan.
