ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has allowed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and lawyer Latif Khosa to travel abroad despite his name being on the Exit Control List (ECL). ).
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard Khosa’s petition challenging the inclusion of his name in the ECL.
During the proceedings, the prosecutor informed the court that Khosa’s name was added to the ECL due to a pending case against him.
The court asked why Khosa’s name was put on the ECL, wondering if there was any fear that he might flee the country and not return.
In his defence, Khosa informed the court that he had a scheduled flight to Canada on Friday.
The court ordered him to submit an affidavit to the trial court, guaranteeing his commitment to appear in court whenever he is summoned.
Subsequently, the IHC allowed him to travel abroad.
