IHC refuses to stay on Afghan repatriation

Islamabad:

The High Court of Islamabad (IHC) rejected on Thursday a request requesting a suspension order against the repatriation of registered Afghan refugees and pointed out that the Court will not interfere with government policy.

Judge Inaam Ameen Minhas heard the case. Umar Ijaz Gilani appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner and asked the court to ask the government to refrain from taking measures until the case is decided.

Justice Minhas pointed out that the Afghans had to return home by June 30 according to government policy, adding that the court will not intervene in government policy.

Later, the court postponed the hearing of the case.
