Islamabad:
The High Court of Islamabad has set the hearing for the petitions deposited by the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and his wife Bushra Bibi requesting the suspension of their convictions in a case of corruption of 190 million pounds Sterling.
The chief judge judge Sarfraz Dogar and judge Azam Khan will chair the hearing on the case of 190 million pounds Sterling on September 25. The last hearing took place on June 26, following the conviction of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi by the Court of Responsibility on January 17.
Earlier, a bench of two members had ordered the case to be heard as soon as possible. However, the pleadings have remained unforeseen until recently, which prompted Imran’s sister, Aleema Khan, to approach the CJ’s room in search of an accelerated audience.
In addition, the IHC has listed various requests for the early hearing of the acquittal arguments deposited by Imran and Bushra in the Toshakhana 2.0 affair. Minhas judge is expected to hear these requests on Friday.
