- IKEA offers three new chargers for your attention
- They all support the Qi2.0 wireless charging standard
- These chargers are available between $9.99 and $24.99 in the United States.
IKEA’s love of practical home and capital accessories continues with the VÄSTMÄRKE series, a set of three wireless chargers supporting the Qi2 standard, one of which has a useful hidden secondary function.
That charger is the simply named VÄSTMÄRKE Wireless Charger (via Notebookcheck), yours for a reasonable $9.99 (we’re still waiting on international pricing and availability). It comes in just one color, bright red, and looks a lot like a donut.
It supports the Qi2.0 standard and can charge at up to 15W. It’s also capable of magnetically attaching, so it will work with the Apple MagSafe and Google Pixelsnap standards, and the built-in USB cable can be neatly stored inside the charger itself.
This dual function is the charger’s ability to act as a PopSocket-style holder for your phone: when magnetically attached to a handset, you can open it a little to make it easier to grip your device with one hand.
Racks and bowls
Next we have the VÄSTMÄRKE Wireless Charging Stand, yours for $24.99, and thanks to IKEA’s pragmatic naming strategy, you can probably piece together what you get with this – it’s like the first charger, but installed in a cork desk stand.
It supports 15W Qi2.0 charging and magnetic connectivity, so you can hang your phone horizontally or vertically, and even use it as a nightstand for your phone or as a way to watch videos or make video calls without holding your handset.
Finally, there is the VÄSTMÄRKE Wireless Charger with Light – a wireless charger with integrated light. This can be yours for $24.99 and again covers the 15W Qi2.0 wireless charging standard like the other products.
Thanks to this, when you put your handset down to charge it, you also benefit from subtle and warm ambient lighting, as well as a small bowl in which you can place keys, rings or anything else you need to keep close at hand.
