- IKEA announces a new colorful domestic electronics range
- The range will be manufactured in collaboration with the colorist Teklan
- Two new colors of its LAPPEBY BLUETOOTH VAPTABLE LAUTER are now available
IKEA is not unrelated to domestic technology, making smart lights, smart sensors and image frame speakers, and more. Unfortunately, few of them are dressed in daring colors for which the farmers’ giant is famous, but Ikea has just promised to repair this with a new series which will “reinvent” the electronics at home.
The new home gadgets are designed in collaboration with Tekla Evelina Severin, a designer and colorist known as Teklan on Instagram, and apparently combine colors, patterns and geometric shapes to help technology.
Until now, if vague, but Ikea has given us a teaser of what to expect by refreshing its vappeby bluetooth ultra cheerful (and surprisingly good) speaker ($ 15 / $ 12 to 22) with two short stories colors. When the speaker launched last year, it was available in black, red or yellow finishes, but the Teklan collaboration delivered blue and pink versions rather than available now.
The slightly poorer news is that the full range of Teklan does not expect to start before “in early 2026” with more details to follow closer to that time. Come on, Ikean – We hoped at least to obtain new low -time charges for this Christmas. However, the Vappeby speaker gives us some confidence that the new range could be worth waiting …
Inexpensive, cheerful … and really good?
If the Vappeby refreshment speaker of Ikea is a taste of what comes from its new Teklan collaboration, then it is a good sign-in particular if it applies this formula to certain really affordable products.
The Vappeby Prize could create understandable prudence, but Techradar’s audio editor, Becky Scarrott tested the Vappeby last year – and her surprising conclusion was that she is “excellent” and a “Alarming Bluetooth speaker for money “.
Although the new blue and pink variants of the speaker seem promising, it is difficult to conclude that yellow (above) is still not the best for bathroom. However, blue or pink could better suit your decor, and whatever the Vappeby version, it is difficult to beat it on Bang-For-Buck.
Our tests revealed that it was “entirely worthy of its IP67 claim” for waterproofing, which means that it can be soaked in the water up to a meter and always survive for 30 minutes. And our examination concluded that “there is very little trouble with the vapy on the sound level” as long as you “expect an excitable performance with advanced sensations rather than a relaxed or refined listening”. This is why it made our list of the best Bluetooth speakers cheap last year.
It would be great to see Ikea repeat the Vappeby formula with other technologies-I think that portable radiators, office speakers, microphones, perhaps even a truly desirable router. What cheap product and fireplace would you like to see Ikea blurring in this new collection of creators? Let us know in the comments below.
