Sony has announced a new pair of limited edition headphones in collaboration with popular virtual idol Hatsune Miku.
The limited edition LinkBuds Fit Hatsune Miku comes with an exclusive set of Miku goodies, including a special acrylic earphone stand with cute illustrations by illustrator 荻mate. If you look at the design closely, you’ll see Miku wearing her own pair of LinkBuds Fit earbuds, which is absolutely adorable.
This is complemented by codes for a digital model of Hatsune Miku and a virtual performance of the song. Belief Day which you can watch in augmented reality (AR) via the HoloModels smartphone app.
The song, featuring music and lyrics by Vocaloid giant HarryP, was created for this collaboration with Sony when it launched in Japan last summer.

Of course, this is huge news if, like me, you buy literally anything that has “Hatsune Miku” written on the box, but this limited edition doesn’t seem to differ from the standard heads aside from the inclusion of these extra goodies.
You get the standard green colorway here, which at least aligns with the idol’s signature verdant hair. Still, with a retail price of $249.99 (compared to the usual price of $179 / £179 / AU$348 rate) I expected at least a few some kind of special sticker on the heads or on the case itself to distinguish them.
If you choose to invest in this limited edition, you’re at least getting a good music listening tool for your money. We consider them one of the best workout headphones on the market, with our Sony LinkBuds Fit review praising both its bold sound and cute, lightweight design.
