Imaan Mazari and Hadi Al Chattha Declared file written in a controversial tweet case

Human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha informed a district and sessions judge on Wednesday that they will approach the High Court of Islamabad to contest the procedure of his court so far in the controversial tweets against them.

Interrupted by the absence of Mazari and Chattha yesterday (Tuesday), the district judge and the Muhammad Afzal Majoka sessions had issued non -reduced arrest mandates for Mazari and Chattha.

Rejecting their request to be apologized by the hearing, the court had ordered the police to arrest the two and produce them in court if they had not appeared.

Police had submitted the charge sheet, but the husband’s lawyer and wife was not charged because they were not present in court.

While the hearing has resumed today, Mazari and Chattha have submitted petitions in short, informing the court of their intention to challenge the procedure before IHC.

The case against them focuses on the tweets published by IMAAN on X, which have been qualified as controversial and anti-state. Chatta was included in the survey to retweet said messages.
