IMF review mission to stay in Pakistan till March 11 to assess economic indicators

ISLAMABAD:
A team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is arriving in Pakistan on Wednesday (today) to begin discussions on the third economic review under the Extended Financing Facility (EFF) programme, focusing on fiscal performance, structural reforms and compliance with agreed policy conditions.
According to Finance Ministry officials, the IMF assessment mission will remain in Pakistan until March 11 to assess economic indicators and review the progress made under the loan agreement. They said the first phase of talks would take place in Karachi, followed by detailed negotiations in Islamabad.
