ISLAMABAD:
Aleema Khan, sister of imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan, said on Saturday that the former prime minister spoke with his sons for about 20 minutes and was “extremely happy to hear their voices”.
“The Chief Justice of Pakistan had ordered that Imran Khan be allowed to speak with his sons. We can confirm that he was able to speak with them for around 20 minutes. His sons shared that he was extremely happy to hear their voices after so long,” Aleema said in a post on X.
“We are now awaiting his emergency medical treatment at Shifa International Hospital Islamabad under the supervision of his personal doctors, where specialist doctors have to do everything possible to restore his eyesight. The intentional delay in providing timely treatment has already caused damage to his eyesight,” she added. “We cannot and will not tolerate any further delays, and immediate specialist care is essential to avoid any permanent loss of vision.”
IHC Advocacy
The PTI has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking suspension of sentence and release on bail of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana II case. The party also filed a separate miscellaneous application, asking for the suspension of sentence hearing in the £190 million case to be scheduled early.
The petitions were filed through advocate Salman Safdar and advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry.
The petitions indicate that the PTI founder is suffering from a serious right eye disease. According to Dr. Muhammad Arif of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), a blood clot severely affected his right eye, reducing the vision in that eye to just 15 percent. The motion argues that this condition cannot be properly treated in prison.
