Imran has not authorized discussions on deal: Gohar

Islamabad:

Former Imran Khan Prime Minister has not authorized any leader of his party to speak with the powers in place for any “agreement,” said PTI president Gohar Ali Khan, while speaking to the media after a meeting with Imran in the prison of Adiala de Rawalpindi.

Last week, the senior PTI official, Azam Khan Swati, said he would work to initiate the dialogue between Imran Khan and the chief of the general army Syed Asim Munir.

He stressed the importance of the military, appealing him “a key national institution and a source of pride”. He had denied suggestions that his release was within the framework of any agreement, arguing that his loyalty to Imran Khan remained “unshakable”.

However, the PTI has moved away from the reports, suggesting that Zam Swati was engaged in talks with the military establishment.

Addressing the media of Lahore, the secretary general of the PTI, Salman Akram Raja, on April 12, said that such actions had not been penalized by the party leadership.

However, Swati again said on Tuesday that Imran Khan had agreed to hold negotiations. Addressing journalists outside of an anti-terrorist courtyard of Lahore, Swati said that Imran Khan is deeply concerned about the future of the country and the well-being of future generations.

However, Gohar Ali Khan said on Tuesday that Imran Khan had not authorized anyone to negotiate “an agreement”. According to Gohar, at the meeting, the founder of the PTI also strictly ordered his party leader to publish any declaration against the leader of another part of the media. Khan deplored that the authorities of the Adiala prison continued to flout the ordinance of the High Court of Islamabad (CIH) concerning Imran’s visit rights.
