Imran Khan, president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI), officially accepted the resignation of Ali Amin Gandapur as president of PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The resignation of Gandapur, which was subject in accordance with the directives of the founder of PTI, was approved by Imran Khan.
This decision comes only a few days after the replacement of Gandapur by Junaid Akbar as a new president of PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On Saturday, the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, relieved his close confidant and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the chief minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, of the role of party president, appointing Junaid Akbar Khan as a successor.
The change was announced by the secretary general of the PTI, lawyer Salman Akram Raja and is considered to be part of the broader political strategy of PTI in the midst of the negotiations in progress with the PML-N coalition in power.
The appointment of Junaid Akbar as president of the PTI KP came shortly after having been elected without opposition as president of the Committee of Public Accounts of the National Assembly (CAP), occupying a vacant position since the general elections of February 2024.
Although there have been rumors concerning the potential replacement of Gandapur as a chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sources indicate that the case was not raised during the recent Gandapur meeting with Imran Khan.
