Kasim Khan, son of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, said that his father had chosen to stay in a “dark prison cell” rather than living a life of comfort abroad.
In an article shared on X, Kasim reflected the political journey and the personal sacrifices of the founder and personal sacrifices of the founder of Tehreek-E-insaf. “Our father lived in Pakistan – far from us – most of our lives. Not because he had to do so, but because he chose to resist a corrupt regime,” he wrote.

Kasim noted that even if Imran Khan was not present as a father every day, Pakistan “had done so as a leader”, highlighting his contributions to the country.
“He gave everything to his country: hospitals, universities and a movement for justice,” he said. He said Imran Khan had the opportunity to live his days peacefully in Englad, spending time with family.
“We offered him the possibility of spending the rest of his days in comfort – take walks or playing cricket with us in England. Instead, he chooses to stay locked in a dark prison cell,” said Kasim. He added his father’s current sacrifice for Pakistan and that “his strength comes from his people”.
