Imran Khan, the imprisoned chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI), called on his party members to put aside internal differences and focus on the movement scheduled for August 5, marking the anniversary of his arrest.
He expressed his concern that there is currently no significant impulse behind the initiative and warned that parties’ unity was vital at this crucial stage. In a message published Thursday from Adiala prison, Khan addressed the PTI, stressing the importance of unity.
“Let me make this absolutely clear, each member of the party must immediately set aside all the internal differences and focus only on the movement scheduled for August 5. I do not see any significant momentum behind this initiative at present. I fight against a 78-year-old system, and my greatest success is that despite the unprecedented oppression, the public is firmly with me, “he said.

Khan recalled the February 8 elections, when the inhabitants of Pakistan expressed their confidence in PTI despite the lack of electoral symbol of the party.
“After such a clear mandate, it is the moral and political responsibility of each member of the party to become the voice of the people. It will simply be shameful and condemnable if the leaders of the PTI waste time on internal conflicts at this critical moment,” he said.
He issued a severe warning to the members of the party against the fact of engaging in factionism, calling such actions a betrayal of his mission. “Anyone who found that engaging in factionalism within the party will be expelled. I fight for the future of our generations, and every sacrifice I make is for this cause. Creating rifts within the party at this time would be a direct betrayal of my mission and my vision, ”said Khan.

In a scathing criticism of the 26th constitutional amendment, Khan accused the government of using the amendment as a tool to paralyze the judiciary of Pakistan. He decried the recent decisions taken by biased judges.
“The so-called government formed by form 47 paralyzed the judiciary through the 26th constitutional amendment. The way in which biased judges currently offer unjustly unfair verdicts under these courts are visible for the whole nation. We must launch a solid campaign to release the judiciary, because it cannot survive, not to mention progression, without legal progress, “he said.
Khan also underlined the treatment he knew during his imprisonment, comparing his difficult conditions for the treatment given to other political leaders.
“Never in the history of Pakistan, no political leader has been submitted to the treatment I currently have. Nawaz Sharif has committed a corruption worth billions and has nevertheless obtained all possible comfort in prison,” he said. He also noted the inhuman treatment of his wife, Bushra Bibi, who was imprisoned in difficult conditions.

In his message, Khan detailed the many difficulties he faced in prison, describing conditions as oppressive. “I drop the term most severe prison in the history of the country only for the supremacy of the Constitution and at the service of my nation. The level of oppression and authoritarianism is such that even the water I have for ablutions is dirty and contaminated by months.
Khan also expressed his frustration as to the violation of his fundamental human rights. “All my fundamental human rights have been raped. Even the minimum installations granted to ordinary prisoners under the law and the prison manual are refused. Despite repeated requests, I was not authorized to speak to my children. Political meetings were also limited,” he added.
