Imran argued that “the establishment argued those who have benefited twice from the National Ordinance of Reconciliation (NRO)”, a reference to the previous political colonies which allowed leaders to escape the accusations of corruption.

He also expressed his concerns about the country’s economic instability, the conduct of recent general elections and state actions against his party.

The letter would include six key points, urging the army chief to reconsider certain policies. Imran said that existing strategies promote resentment among the public, expanding the gap between civilians and the military.

PTI leaders have designed the letter as a direct call to a change in policy, while government representatives have not yet responded. The army did not publish any official declaration concerning the letter.
