The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, decided to postpone the party’s planned protest movement for two weeks, citing dominant regional tensions and the international developing situation in the middle of the current Iran-Israeli conflict.
The announcement was made by PTI chief Noreen Khanum following his meeting with the former Prime Minister imprisoned from Adiala prison on Tuesday, Express News reported.
Addressing journalists outside the prison, she said that Khan had taken into account the decision to keep the “sensitive regional circumstances” and continuous developments in the Middle East. “We are expecting political statements by the Prime Minister, the President and the Marshal before continuing,” said Khanum.
She added that although Khan did not meet anyone in last week, he remained aware of global affairs and thought that the situation would have direct consequences for Pakistan. “The founder of the PTI called for national unity during this critical period,” she said.

Commenting on the federal budget, Khan would have described it as an adapted to the elite. “The burden of taxation is fully placed on the salaried class while the poor continue to suffer. Poverty increases and the economic situation aggravates,” she said.
Khanum has also said that more than 3.3 million educated people had left Pakistan in the past three years, each taking about $ 30,000 with them – contributing to a significant exit from foreign exchange.
Regarding the budget of KhyberPakhtunkhwa (KP), she said that she would only be finalized after consultations with key figures. “Ali Amin Gandapur, Taimur Jhagra, Muzzammil Aslam and Shibli Faraz will meet Khan before the budget,” she added.
Speaking on occasion, the PTI leader, Uzma Khan, said that Khan had urged the nation to focus on unity and remain firm while clarifying that Gandapur had not moved away from the protest movement, and that the PTI supporters in the world would continue to raise their voice.
“Imran Khan did not withdraw the support of the demonstration-in fact, he laughed at suggestion,” she said, adding that Khan’s position on the situation in Gaza was already well known.
Uzma also criticized political leaders to remain silent during periods of regional conflict. “Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz did not rule during the Indian-Pakistani war. Now, current leaders – with a mandate of only 17 seats – must clarify their position. It is their responsibility, ”she said. “We are also waiting to hear the real decision-makers,” she added.
