Rawalpindi:
Former Imran Khan Prime Minister urged Pakistan chief Yahya Afridi, to respect the rule of law, said Imran’s sister Aleema Khan
“Imran Khan asked the chief judge to decide if he wanted to respect the rule of law,” said Aleema, adding that his brother said that he “would face his business before the courts of the same judges and that He will not hit a secret agreement [to get any relief]. “”
Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned since August 2023, wrote a letter to chief judge Yahya Afridi as well as the chief of the Constitutional Banc of the Supreme Court, Judge Amicin Khan, on January 30.
In the 349 -page epistle, the former PM addressed questions related to human rights violations, an alleged electoral fraud and the arrests of PTI workers, in particular around November 26, 2024.
Imran Khan said that between November 24 and 27 of last year, a large number of PTI workers had been arrested. He also alleged that the hospital files had been sealed and modified later to manipulate facts on a government repression against a PTI rally.
He criticized the judiciary for having failed to do justice despite repeated petitions against electoral fraud and continuous human rights violations in the last 18 months.
Later, the founder of the PTI also sent two letters to the army chief, General Syed Asim Munnir.
Speaking with letters reference, Aleema Khan quoted Imran saying that they should not be interpreted as an attempt to conclude an agreement with the establishment.
“He said that the letters to the chief of the army were not for an agreement but to transmit a message, because the gap between the army and the public widens.
“He said that the nation and the army had to unite against terrorism. The founder of the PTI also said that he would write another letter next week,” she said.
