Imran writes the second “open letter” to Coas

Rawalpindi:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI), founding president and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, wrote a second “open letter” to the chief of staff of the army (COAS) Gen Asim Munir, expressing concerns Concerning “the expansion of the gap between the army and the public” while alleging serious violations of rights during its imprisonment.

The letter, shared via its official Twitter handle on Saturday, accuses the authorities of prior rigging, judicial manipulation and political victimization.

The new letter echoes the first, written to the Coas on February 3, claiming an increasing distance between the army and the people. However, security sources argued that the military had not received the letter and rejected media reports concerning its existence.

On Saturday, Imran said that he had written the previous letter with “good intentions for the improvement of the country and the nation so that the growing gap between the army and the people can be reduced day by day”. However, he deplored that the response was given with “extreme frivolity and irresponsibility”.

“As a former Prime Minister and the leader of the largest political party in Pakistan, I have devoted my life to serving this country. My 55 -year -old public life since 1970 and 30 years of earnings is above all the world. My life and death are only for Pakistan. I am only concerned with the image of our soldiers and the consequences of the growing disconnection between the army and the people, for which I wrote this letter, “said Imran.

He said that if public opinion was requested on the six points it had highlighted earlier, 90% of people would support them.

Imran allegedly alleged that intelligence agencies have faked elections to install a puppet government, that the 26th amendment was “forced” by the Parliament under the threat of a firearm to control the judiciary, and that the ” pocket judges “were appointed to serve acquired interests.

He also affirmed that dissent was removed by “draconian laws” such as PECA, economic instability was fueled by “political interference” and that “state -supported repression” on PTI was underway, Institutions being poorly used for political engineering.

He warned that such actions have not only had the public’s feeling, but also continuously widening the gap between the people and the military.

In his letter, the former Prime Minister also complained about allegedly ill -treatment in prison.

“The prison administration – made me each injustice to increase pressure on me while violating fundamental human rights. I was kept in a cell of death. I was kept in a complete locking for 20 days, where even sunlight did not reach me.

“For five days, electricity in my cell was deactivated and I was in total darkness. My exercise equipment and my TV were removed, and I was not even allowed to have newspapers. They even retain books when they wish. Aside from these 20 days, I was again kept in locking for 40 hours.

The former Prime Minister also allegedly alleged that intense pressure exerted judges to condemn him and his wife, citing an incident where the blood pressure of a judge has increased five times due to stress, requiring hospitalization.

He also declared that he had been illegally condemned in four cases, reinforcing his conviction that the legal system was armed against him.

By concluding his letter, Imran said: “It is essential for the stability and security of the country that the gap between the army and the people is reduced, and there is only one way to reduce this growing gap , and it is for the army to return to its constitutional limits, separate from politics and assume its assigned responsibilities, and this task will have to be carried out by the army itself, if not, this growing gap will become lines of flaw in terms of national security “.
