India wrongly binding Pakistan to the pahalgam incident without proof: PM

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that despite the provocative actions of India following the Pahalgam incident in the Indian-Indian Jammu-Indian (IIOJK), Pakistan responded in a responsible manner.

He said that India had provided any evidence connecting Pakistan to the incident and that he is rather associated with Pakistan to the Pahalgam event wrongly.

According to a press release published by the Prime Minister’s media wing, the Turkish ambassador, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, met Prime Minister on PM house on Saturday.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister responded to his best wishes for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and recalled his recent visit to Ankara on April 22, 2025, where the two leaders discussed the progress of Pak-Turkey relations in various sectors.

The Prime Minister thanked President Erdoğan for supporting Pakistan in the midst of the current security situation in South Asia and for his call for regional peace.

He said Türkiye’s support in Pakistan reflects the historical and fraternal ties between the two countries and their people. He reiterated that Pakistan responded responsible for the provocative actions of India after the Pahalgam incident.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed that Pakistan has always condemned all forms of terrorism. He added that Pakistan has made huge sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, including 90,000 lost lives and more than $ 152 billion in economic losses.

He said that the actions of India are a malicious attempt to divert attention to the efforts to combat Pakistan terrorism.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also stressed that India has so far not responded to Pakistan’s offer from a credible, transparent and impartial international investigation to discover the facts behind Pahalgam incident. Pakistan will cooperate fully with such an investigation, and if Türkiye participates, it will be welcome.

The Prime Minister added that Pakistan is currently focusing on economic recovery and development, which requires peace and security in the neighborhood.

The Turkish ambassador sent Ankara’s support to Pakistan’s position and expressed his solidarity with Pakistan. He urged restraint in the middle of the current crisis to reduce tensions and maintain peace and security in South Asia.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang for approving Islamabad’s call to a credible and transparent international investigation into the April 22 attack in IIIOJK.

The Prime Minister made these remarks at a meeting with Chinese ambassador Jiang Zaidong at the Prime Minister’s office in Islamabad, where he also expressed his gratitude to China for his constant support in the midst of regional tensions.
