“Indian aggression has consequences”

LONDON:

PPP President and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari warned on Tuesday that India’s recent attack on Pakistani civilians and his suspension of the Industry Water Treaty could have dangerous consequences for regional and international peace and security.

He made these remarks while directing a high -level parliamentary delegation that informed the parliamentary group of all parties (APPG) on Pakistan about Indian aggression and violations of Pakistan sovereignty.

The visit is part of the broader diplomatic awareness of Pakistan in response to the deterioration of the security situation following the pahalgam incident.

During a meeting organized by the president of the Yasmin Qureshi MP app for Westminster Palace, and who attended British intermediate parliamentarians, Bilawal categorically rejected the baseless Indian allegations, made without credible or verifiable investigation.

The head of delegation stressed that the Indian attack on the civilian population, the violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and the unilateral suspension of the Industry Water Treaty – in flagrant violation of international law – could have dangerous consequences for regional and international peace and security.

The Minister of Climate Change and the Environmental Coordination Musadik Malik informed parliamentarians of the holding of the Industry Water Treaty by India, threatens the food security and the survival of 240 million inhabitants of Pakistan, mainly an agrarian economy.

The delegation stressed that Pakistan’s response to Indian assault was calibrated, responsible and fully in accordance with international law, including the right to self -defense under article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

He underlined Pakistan’s commitment to the restraint, the rebirth of the Industry Water Treaty and the initiation of a composite dialogue between the two countries on all outstanding questions, in particular the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir.
