Lahore: the security forces have shot down the Indian drone in the Manawan region of Lahore, police sources announced on Friday.
They said the security forces immediately targeted the drone after detecting its movement on Pakistani territory.
Police sources added that the device seemed to be a surveillance drone because no explosives were found on it.
Intelligence agencies have placed the drone in detention and launched an investigation into the issue, according to sources.
The last incident occurred months after Pakistan and India embarked on the military confrontation in May 2025, triggered by an attack in April against Indian tourists, Jammu-et-Cachemire occupied illegally (iiojk) that New Delhi blamed in Islamabad, before accepting a cease-fire.
In response to the Indian aggression, the armed forces of Pakistan launched a large-scale military reprisal action, called “Operation Bunyan-UM-Marsoos” and targeted several Indian military targets in several regions.
Pakistan has shot down six Indian fighter planes, including three gusts and dozens of drones. After at least 87 hours, the war between the two nuclear nations ended on May 10 with a cease-fire agreement negotiated by the United States.
The ceasefire was announced for the first time by US President Donald Trump on social networks after Washington had interviews with both parties, but India has deferred Trump’s claims that this results from his intervention and threats to break up trade negotiations.
However, Pakistan recognized Trump’s efforts and officially recommended it for the Nobel Peace Prize 2026, citing its role in defusing tensions between the two countries last month.
