Prefectural police of Japan shiga arrested a 24 -year -old Indian man for alleged rape of a high school student from the city of Otsu last month, local media reported.
The incident occurred “between 12:40 p.m. and 1:20 am on June 21” in which the anonymous suspect would have strangled and sexually assaulted the girl in a hotel, a Japanese newspaper reported Kyoto Shimbun Tuesday.
During the police interrogation, the suspect – a temporary worker who lives in Otsu – denied this allegation, saying: “I did not forced it”.
However, local police said the suspect and the teenager did not know each other.
Before the incident, the Indian male went to see the girl, asking him to guide her towards the front of the hotel where he forced her in his room and raped her, said the police.
Last month, the United States issued a travel notice urging its citizens to show increased caution during the visit of India, citing the growing threat of violent crimes specifically rape.
The opinion notes that rape is one of the fastest crimes in India, with incidents of sexual assault and violent crimes reported in tourist places and other public spaces. Travelers, especially women, are strongly advised not to travel alone.
In May, Japanese police arrested a former taxi driver, a 54 -year -old man, suspected of drugs and rape a fleeting woman, the media reporting that there could be dozens of additional victims.
In this case, the Yomiuri Shimbun daily Jiji press Reported that the police had found about 3,000 videos and images of sexually assaulting him about 50 women in his taxi or house.

“An American navy in her twenties is suspected of having violated a Japanese in an American military base in March, and is also suspected of having injured another woman,” said a local Japanese police official AFP.
