Indiana Fever star Lexie Hull almost never plays a WNBA game without taking at least a 20-minute nap first.

It’s one of his many pregame rituals focused on his “look good, feel good, play good” mentality.

“For me, before a game, I always take a pregame nap, and then as soon as I wake up, I do my skincare and makeup and hair and pick out an outfit without a date, and that’s been my routine for the last four years in the W,” Hull told PK Press Club Digital, adding that the nap is her favorite part of the routine.

“I take a nap at home or at the hotel, so I take a nap five hours before the game… everyone has their version, I think most of my teammates take a nap.

“It’s low maintenance…some people don’t like wearing makeup and don’t like getting ready, but for me, I love it all.”

One of Hull’s signature pre-match beauty steps is keeping her nails in check. She once said that it was even one of her superstitions.

“I like to get my nails done before I play. It’s like looking down and feeling good. So if there’s a chip and the nail is broken, I’ll fix it in the morning or the day before the game to make sure everything is ready for the game, and like that, it’s just a personal preference,” she said.

“I think the idea of looking good, feeling good and playing well has always resonated with me. Presenting myself as my most confident, self-assured self has been important because I feel like I’m capable of performing at my highest level.”

Hull’s commitment to beauty routines has manifested itself in her own personal beauty brand FORTA Cosmetics. It has partnered with athlete-led marketing platform Faves, which allows athletes to capitalize on business opportunities beyond traditional sponsorship models by giving an athlete’s fans access to their products.

“Athletes often live in extreme conditions when training and playing, and I partnered with Faves at the launch to see female athletes on their platform…so we could get [FORTA] in their hands and get them to try it and test it to see how they like it and share it with their audience,” Hull said.

Hull is about to enter his fourth season with The Fever and his third with fellow superstar Caitlin Clark. Hull led Indiana to the WNBA playoffs last season after Clark was injured, missing one game before reaching the Finals.
