During his visit, Minister Roeslani will have in-depth discussions with the Deputy Prime Minister on the prospects of strengthening the partnership between Pakistan and Indonesia in the field of trade and investment, the ministry said in a statement published on X (formerly Twitter).
This visit is expected to strengthen bilateral economic ties between the two countries, the Foreign Ministry added.
In January, Pakistan and Indonesia strengthened their economic partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the establishment of the Joint Trade Committee, creating an institutional platform to strengthen trade dialogue.
Earlier, in December, the two countries signed seven memorandums of understanding and agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in various areas. These include cooperation in higher education, a grant program for Indonesian state scholarships, facilitation of business development for small and medium-sized enterprises, collaboration between national archives, narcotics control and cooperation in preventing and combating illicit drug trafficking, cooperation in trade and Halal certification, and cooperation in the field of health.
