Colton Herta was involved in a terrifying accident during the qualification of Indianapolis 500 on Saturday.
He entered tours 1 and 2 to 236 MPH when he lost control of his vehicle and turned. The car n ° 26 hit its front end in the wall on the backstretch. As he backs up, Herta’s car went in the air and turned around.

The car continued in the backstretch and turned 3 and 4. He clung to the wall before stopping.
Herta was able to get out of the car and move away from the scary accident.
“I am well. Fortunately, these accidents seem more scary now than they feel it,” Heta told Fox Sports after leaving the emergency care center. “Not to say that he felt good, but I think the team will work hard at the moment to try to prepare the rescue car. It will probably be impossible to try it out today.

“Day terrible for it to happen … No real sign that leads there. We were super satisfied with the car this morning and we let go. We couldn’t even go around 1. So, yes, it sucks but I’m fine. We will continue.”
Herta was a 16-1 shot on Saturday to win the Indy 500.
Herta won nine victories in her career in the Indycar series. He won for the last time in Nashville to finish the 2024 season. He had three top-10 this year and a top 5.
He will enter the ninth Indy 500 in the points classification. He finished seventh last season in Indy.

The Indy 500 will be broadcast on May 25 on Fox with pre-coverage from 10 a.m. he. It will also be available to broadcast live on Foxsports.com and the Fox Sports application.
