James McAvoy quietly expanded his family… four years ago!
THE X-Men The star secretly welcomed his first child with Lisa Liberati in 2022, but they have kept the news private until now. In a new interview with The Guardian Posted March 31, McAvoy, 46, opened up about becoming a father again at 42, meaning his new bundle of joy is arriving in 2022.
This is his second child since McAvoy is already the father of a 15-year-old son, Brendan, whom he shares with his ex-wife Anne-Marie Duff.
Opening up about fatherhood, McAvoy admitted The guardian that becoming a parent in your 40s brought a different perspective. “Having a child at 42 is definitely easier, in some ways I worry less,” he said, confirming that he had become a father again in 2022.
“I’m a little more philosophical. But it’s also more difficult, because we’re just older and more tired,” he added.
THE Chronicles of Narnia The actor noted that balancing work and parenthood always has its challenges. “I’m feeling all this stress for the first time in my 40s. When we were making the movie, I would wake up at 2:30 in the morning with the movie buzzing in my head.”
He added that the early stages of building a career are often best suited to younger years. “It’s the time when you work your tail off, burn the midnight oil, run an extra mile – and usually when you do that, you’re in your 20s.”
McAvoy and Liberati, who split their time between London and Philadelphia, first met on the set of Split. After years of keeping their relationship out of the spotlight, McAvoy confirmed they got married in 2022.
