Interior Minister Naqvi denies attending anti-China event in US

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has dismissed allegations of participation in any anti-China events during his recent visit to the United States, terming the claims “toxic propaganda”.

Speaking to media in Houston, Naqvi clarified that his visit was focused on formulating an effective strategy against terrorism, Express News reported.

He denied attending any anti-China functions and said such baseless propaganda would not affect Pakistan’s bilateral relations.

“My presence at a youth event is being misrepresented,” Naqvi said.

“I have not participated in any anti-China rallies, and such false narratives do not change our commitments. »

Naqvi also stressed that the fight against terrorism is a shared responsibility, adding that Pakistan remains committed to confronting those who take up arms against the country.

The minister revealed that his trip included meetings with US lawmakers, aimed at developing joint plans to combat terrorism.

“This is not just Pakistan’s fight; it’s a collective battle,” he said.

During discussions with members of the US Congress, Naqvi said the two sides were exploring ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

He called for global cooperation to resolve Pakistan’s challenges and stressed that politicizing issues that could harm Pakistan’s interests should be avoided.

Yesterday, Mohsin Naqvi met a high-level delegation of the US-Pakistan Business Council at the American Chamber of Commerce in Washington, Express News reported.

During the meeting, they had detailed discussions on increasing investments and cooperation in the mining and information technology sectors.

Minister Naqvi invited US investors to invest in Pakistan’s mining and IT sectors. He also listened to the problems faced by American companies operating in Pakistan, assuring that these problems would be resolved on priority.

He highlighted that the US-Pakistan Business Council could benefit from the numerous investment opportunities available in Pakistan.

He added that Pakistan is on the path to economic stability, with improving economic indicators, and the country’s economy is poised for growth.

Minister Naqvi invited the US-Pakistan Business Council to take advantage of investment opportunities in Pakistan. He also mentioned improvements in the issuance of necessary no-objection certificates (NOCs).

The minister assured the US-Pakistan Business Council that special facilities would be provided on priority.

The meeting was attended by Charles Freeman, Senior Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce, Esperanza Jalalain, Executive Director and President of the US-Pakistan Business Council, Abel Torres, Executive Director of the Center for Global Regulatory Corporation , and Manisha Vepa, Director of the US-Pakistan Business Council. Pakistan Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Commercial Attaché, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
