- Apple’s new invite application has an interesting interface design
- This recalls more the visionos applications than those made for iOS
- This could be an index to the next design of iOS 19
Sometimes we have an overview of what Apple has planned in its future devices, and this seems to have occurred with the recent launch of the new application of the company. Because far from being a simple holiday planning application, invites light to the type of design that we could end up seeing in iOS 19.
Open the invitations and the first thing you will notice is how much it has in common with the apps made for Apple’s Pro PRO headset. As Parker Ortolani noted, Apple lovers, floating boxes and colorful backgrounds of the application recall what you will find when using Pro Vision.
It is different from most other Apple applications, which share a more familiar design language that has been present in iOS for years. With Visionos – the operating system that works on Vision Pro – Apple has changed things, and that seems to have been translated as an invitation.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that we have seen an Apple application taking a new direction in terms of user interface. Ortolani stressed that the recently launched sports application of Apple was also a gap compared to the traditional design ethics that we are used to seeing. And a recent leak of what is claimed to be a new look for the application of the camera in iOS 19 shows an interface which is also inspired by the pro vision.

With the two most recent applications of the company that move away from the principles of design of the past Apple applications, does that mean that something new is on the horizon? It seems to be Ortolani’s belief, at least. If Apple begins to follow the example of vision pro with regard to the design of applications, this could perhaps take a change when iOS 19 is previewed in summer at the Global Conference of Apple Developers (WWDC).
The last time we saw an important design change change is when iOS 7 was launched in 2013.
It has been more than a decade since this major change, so it may be time for another design to rethink. And if Apple’s latest applications seem to get closer to those found in Visionos, we may see a much more important overhaul when iOS 19 is revealed to the world.
In the end, ensuring that its applications share a common design language is logical for Apple, as it means that its users can find familiar elements and systems regardless of the device they use. And if this is the objective, it is possible that the other Apple – Apple Watch devices in Mac – can end up heading in the same way.
