IOS 26 and iPados 26 are now available for download, but what iPhone and iPad models are supported by the latest Apple updates?
Apple confirmed the device’s requirements for iOS 26 and iPados 26 during its WWDC 2025 showcase in June, and now that the two updates are in the wild, we have listed all the models supported in this dedicated compatibility guide.
If your device supports iOS 26 or iPados 26, it will also be compatible with all subsequent versions of the software (for example, iOS 18.1, iPados 18.1, etc.).
We also have details on iOS or iPados features are not available on each device, because Apple continues to restrict certain tools to new Apple chipsets.
IOS 26 compatibility
Apple has confirmed that all iPhone models, including and more recent than the iPhone 11 – In other words, any iPhone with the Bionic Chipset A13 or better – are compatible with iOS 26.
Note that this is a slightly different eligibility criterion from iOS 18, which included the iPhone XS and the iPhone XR. So, if you are currently using one of these models, you will have to go to a more recent iPhone to qualify for iOS 26.

Ipados 26 compatibility
Almost all iPad models are available in several sizes, as well as wi-only and Wi-Fi +cellular configurations, so in the interest of readability, we have gathered the list below compatible iPados 26 models in dated categories:
- 2018 iPad Pro models (3rd generation)
- 2019 iPad Air models (3rd generation)
- IPad models from 2020 and later (8th generation)
- 2019 iPad Mini models (5th generation)
As with iOS 26, all iPads that execute iPados 18 are compatible with iPados 26. More specifically, Apple has abandoned the management of the 10.2 inch iPad (2019).
If, however, you have a more recent iPad that already performs iPados 18, you can download iPados 26.
Compatibility of features
All iOS ipados and iPads iOS 26 and iPados 26 cannot benefit from all iOS 26 and iPados 26 features.
The features of Apple Intelligence, for example, are exclusive to the devices performing Apple M series, A19, A19 Pro, A18, A18 PRO and A17 Pro Chipsets, while messages via the satellite tool are limited to the iPhone 14 and more recent series.
These features have however already been introduced with iOS 18 and iPados 18, it is therefore preferable to consider them as exclusive to these software packages, rather than iOS 26 and iPados 26.
Below, we have detailed a list of exclusive iOS and iPados features, in parallel with their respective requirements of the device.
- Apple intelligence features – iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Series, iPhone 16 Series, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and M1 / A17 Pro -equipped iPads
