- Apple automatically deploys an AirPods break when you sleep
- It seems that the functionality could also happen to the beaten headphones
- The option is currently being tested in the beta developer of iOS 26
At WWDC 2025 last month, Apple briefly mentioned a new AirPods feature coming with iOS 26: a rocking switch so that the audio stops automatically if you fall asleep while wearing your wireless headphones. Now it seems that the same feature also arrives at the beating headphones.
Beats of course belongs to Apple, but it was not clear if the Beats brand aircraft would obtain the Pause Média option. According to the code identified by the Steve Moser and MacRumors prediction, these headphones and headphones will be included.
Currently, you need the beta developer of iOS 26 and the beta version of the airpods firmware installed, and either the AirPods Pro 2 or the AirPods 4 to find the option: with your airpod in your ears, open the settings of your iPhone, then type AirPods. You should see a new Media break when you fall asleep Rocking switch.
It is an intelligent tip, but Apple has not explained how it works – and I have not yet had the chance to test it (even if I am more than willing to spend time taking a nap for work). He apparently does not need additional equipment to operate, like an Apple Watch.
Details to be confirmed
While the complete deployment of the iOS 26 (in September) is still far away, Apple has probably already worked reliably – even if there is not much difference between someone who relaxes and relaxes while listening to a podcast or a reading list, and someone who really fell asleep with his airpods.
If this ends up operating reliably, it would certainly be a welcome characteristic: it would help save on the battery life, as well as that means that you do not lose your place in the supports that you listen to – although it does not know how speed the automatic break comes into play.
We do not know which headphones will be included and have the technology of the sensor required inside. Presumably, the most recent models would be included, such as the impressive headphones Beats PowerBeats Pro 2 that we have examined earlier this year, but we will have to wait for Apple’s confirmation.
This break feature, while sleep, is not the only new tip to come on the best AirPods with iOS 26: AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 will also obtain a better audio recording via their microphones and their remote camera control.
