Although we are always due at least one more update update to iPados 19, we already hear juicy rumors on the next major update of the Apple tablets operating system.
The iPados 19 will probably be revealed at WWDC in June 2025, after the trend in previous years. Likewise, we expect the next upgrade of Apple’s major iPados will arrive at the general release in September 2025, when we expect the iPhone 17 series to start.
Apple does not publish the iPads each year in the way it does iPhones, so we do not know if new iPads will be launched alongside the new software. We expect all the current iPads to support iPados 19 at the version.
Continue to read for an overview of the 4 largest rumors of iPados 19 that we have heard so far, as well as 2 other things that I would like to see coming on the iPad platform.
- The iPados 19 are still far enough, but we have already heard key rumors
- New home screen features could be on the way, as well as a new low power mode
- The new features shared with iOS 19 would include a redesign inspired by Siri and Visionos, fueled by Visionos,
Files pinned on the home screen
Apple fans call en masse for more iPad style office features for a few years now – and honestly, I understand. The iPad Pro and the iPad Air in particular are as powerful on paper as some MacBooks, powered by chipsets from the M series with up to 16 GB of RAM.
We do not expect the iPados 19 to push Apple tablets considerably closer to the office experience, but a notable predictioner suggests that at least a new office style feature is on the way.
According to the longtime Tipster Majin BU, iPados 19 will bring the possibility of pinning files and folders on the home screen, which, imagines it, means that they will appear in a similar way to application icons.
This could add flexibility to the experience of the iPad, allowing users to configure pages of their home screen, each focused on different projects or files. Users have long been able to add websites and widgets to the iPad home screen, so the addition of files looks like a natural extension.
A new low power mode

Another rumor of the Tipster Majin BU notes that iPados 19 could provide a revised low power mode to the range of Apple tablets.
The rumor suggests that iPados 19 will bow the low power mode in Apple Intelligence, using AI to optimize performance and keep the battery life.
Currently, the low power mode of the iPad Hierarte The essential tasks, decreases the screen and locks the display at a refresh rate of 60 Hz on models with promotion screens (which includes only iPad Pro models at the time of writing).
Although I am a skeptical of the noted AI, it seems to be a great way to use it. Some of my concerns about AI are linked to energy efficiency, so if Apple seeks to use it to keep the energy, I am happy to look with curiosity rather than doubt.
Apple Intelligence, meet Siri

Siri should obtain its long -awaited Apple Intelligence update with the next major iPados update, in accordance with contemporary iOS and macOS updates.
Apple had initially sought to impregnate Siri with all the power of Apple Intelligence via an update of Mid-YE iPados 18, but that unfortunately failed to materialize.
In addition to marking another chapter of the disorderly deployment of Apple Intelligence, this led various commentators to adjust their expectations and to put themselves views on iPados 19 as Savior of Siri.
As we have recently covered, Siri is behind an update, because she still has trouble answering certain basic questions.
A possible overhaul

As we mentioned above, Bloomberg’s apple expert Mark Gurman suggested that iOS 19, iPados 19 and MacOS 16 will all be delivered with a significant overview – think of transparent windows, circular icons and less visual congestion.
Although we have not seen many rumors focused on the overhaul of possible iPados, we have seen images that sue the application of redesigned iOS camera.
Although most of the latest rumors of Apple software concerned iOS, it follows that iPados would receive a similar visual refreshment, because the two generally reflect as regards aesthetics.
The iPados have technically never had a major overhaul, because the operating system only diverged in iOS in 2019. The last Redesign iOS major came in 2012, with the introduction of iOS 7.
What I want to see on iPados 19

I have been an iPad user for a long time before joining the Techradar team, and my faithful iPad Pro 2020 still checks – but like many others, I think there are a few key things that Apple could do to raise the experience with iPados 19.
The first is the appropriate floating window support. I don’t care that it is excited as part of the stage manager, I just want to be able to resize the windows at will and place them where I want. I gave up wanting the iPad to behave exactly like a Mac, but I don’t think it will cross borders.
As mentioned, the iPad Pro and the iPad Air now wear office class chipsets which are more than capable of executing and resizing several windows – in particular for primary applications.
The second feature that I would like to see added is a keyboard divided into software. It honestly confuses me that my 11 -inch iPad Pro does not support this feature – the tablet is thin and portable, but simply too large to tap comfortably when it is held vertically.
So there, you have it – my list of wishes in two parts. Let us know what you want to see on iPados 19 in the comments, and for recycling on the Apple current range of tablets, see our list of the best iPads.
