IPVanish has just announced a new partnership with the United Rugby Championship (URC).
The campaign aims to promote best cybersecurity practices among rugby fans in the world. It echoes similar initiatives made by some of the best VPN suppliers in the past.
Protection, field and online
Speaking on the partnership, the director general of IPVanish, Subbu Sthanu, said: “Whether in the field or online, everyone must protect their house. This partnership allows us to connect with a passionate and warned audience and lead the importance of security and confidentiality in daily life.”
More specifically, the “First Line of Defense” campaign of IPVanish aims to promote digital security through the world of sport fans. This includes an awareness initiative aimed at educating fans and teams on online protection.
The supplier also wishes to support the role of the official broadcasting group of the Rugby League, television managers (TMOS). The objective here is to “improve the way in which decisions are communicated to fans both in the stadium and to look at home,” said the supplier.
Founded in 2001, the United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual professional competition which includes elite clubs from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa and Wales.

As mentioned earlier, IPVanish is not the first VPN supplier to team up with a sports club to promote cybersecurity values between professionals and supporters.
