Iranian President, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, is expected to visit Pakistan on August 2 (Saturday) for an official two -day trip to the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reported the Iran of Iran of Iran on Wednesday.

The visit was confirmed by President Pezeshkian’s political advisor Mehdi Sanai, in an article on X. “Dr. Pezeshkian will go to Pakistan on Saturday evening, on August 2, at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif,” he said.

According to Sanai, President Pezeshkian will hold official meetings with the Pakistani management and will engage in discussions with leading cultural and commercial personalities during his stay in Islamabad.

The Iranian official noted that the visit aims to strengthen the multidimensional relationship between the two neighbors, which covers political, economic, religious and cultural spheres. Improving provincial and border and bilateral stimulation cooperation – mainly evaluated at $ 3 billion – are among the main travel objectives.

This will mark President Pezeshkian’s first visit to Pakistan and the second by an Iranian president in the past two years. His predecessor, the late President Ebrahim Raisi, went to Pakistan in April 2024, just a few weeks before his tragic death in a helicopter accident.

Pakistan and Iran share long -standing ties anchored in geography, religion and regional cooperation. Last month, Islamabad expressed strong support for Tehran during his brief but intense conflict with Israel, in which the two countries exchanged missile dams over almost two weeks.

During a telephone call after the crisis, President Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz for the “coherent and principle” support in Pakistan.

Pakistan had reiterated its support for Iran during various international forums, including the United Nations Security Council and the Islamic Cooperation Organization.

During this trip, the Prime Minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Iranian Pacific Nuclear Nuclear Program, declaring: “We are holding with our Iranian brothers and reaffirmed our support for the Pacific Nuclear Program of Iran.”

The two leaders also held a meeting on the touch of the 17th summit of the Economic Organization (ECO) in Khankendi, Azerbaijan, earlier this year.
