Irobot has unveiled a whole new vacuum of flagship robot – the Romberba Max 705 Vac, alongside Dock Autoempty. And even if it looks like a very competent Robovac, I can’t help but feel rather disappointed and a little confused too.
It looks like only The area where this Robovac improves the rest of the beach is that it has a higher maximum suction level. It’s great – the cleaning power is quite key if your Robovac will be useful, after all – but it is not the most exciting attribute for a flagship model.
In addition, there are several ways where the max 705 Vac is lacking compared to other rocks. It is the only Model not to offer cleaning capacities alongside the vacuum cleaner, which also means that the quay is much basic than the Autowash which is delivered with the 405 and 505 models.
I am not opposed to a vacuum robot, and I do not believe to complicate to complicate, but it is confusing to have a flagship model with a list of features which is so much shorter than the models below.
The reason I know it is a flagship model is that he has “max” in the name. The denomination scheme for Irobot Goes Roomba (good), Roomba Plus (better), Roomba Max (Best).
To be fair, the price reflects this relative simplicity. The max 705 VAC costs $ 899.99 / £ 699, against $ 999.99 / £ 699 for Roomba plus 505 below. It is much more affordable than most high -end models of Robovacs – many of the best robot vacuums today have a lot of list prices in four figures.
Elsewhere, you get the brand’s most advanced Lidar navigation (“Clearview Pro”) and object detection technology (“Precisionvision AI”), two rubber rolls to efficiently pull the hair and whisk in the trash can, an automatic docker capable of holding up to 75 days of dust and dirt, and a sliding design that includes textured sections House with your house. All the excellent features, but no unique in max 705 Vac.
It will automatically increase the suction when it detects it on the carpet, which could Be a unique feature, although the most 505 can “adapt intelligently to deep cleaning”, which seems to be the same thing.
It sucks
In addition to feeling disappointed with the new launch, I am also frustrated to see that Irobot seems to have resumed his plans to publish suction specifications for his Robovac line. Instead, it is a question of transmitting powers of cleaning its comparative boots to the 600 series. Not only does it make the comparison with the models of other brands impossible, but it is not a modern reference either given the 600 launched more than ten years ago.
Based on Irobot’s specifications, the 705 VAC offers “180x more power suction” than the old 600 series, while the rest of the range offers only 70x more. But without a figure in Pascals, I cannot compare this to what other brands offer with their Robovacs.
A late addition
The Romberba Max 705 Vac is an unexpected Staggler following a major Restart of Irobot last month. In mid-March, the brand abandoned almost all of its Robovacs fleet and replaced them with new models. Roomba’s new features included late upgrades such as the introduction of Lidar for navigation, alongside more innovative features like a bot that covers dirt in its tray on board so that you do not have to make room for a bulky automatic vitiation quay.
The only model to survive abandonment was the Romberba Max 10 combo, which was still rather new. I stressed at the time that it was a shame, because this model had not been massively well received and looked rather dated compared to its new committees.
It seems that the max 705 vaca is replacing this model. It seems that it will be a better Robovac, with basic online features with the rest of the range, even if there is nothing particularly new. The 705 is also less than half the price of the maximum 10.
I assume that a combo model is in preparation and will join the range at a given time, although it is a speculation purely.
