One of Alien: earthThe stars have denied that specific examples of real life technologies have inspired the duplicity character which he depicts in the original FX TV.
Addressing Techradar, Samuel Blenkin, who embodies the Kavalier boy in the very first television project of the French-fiction horror frankness, said that he was simply based on the way the character had been written.
For uninitiated: Boy Kavalier is the 20-year-old CEO and founder of Prodigy Corporation. One of the five megacorporations which mainly govern planet earth in the Stranger Universe, Prodigy is at the forefront of unlocking human immortality via its hybrid program – an experimental procedure which transfers the consciousness of a human child in an artificial adult body.
However, shortly after Prodigy managed to create six hybrids, the USCSS Maginot – a deep space research ship belonging to Weyland -Yutani, one of the rivals of Prodigy and the Stranger The most famous multinational in the franchise – collapses at Prodigy City. By discovering that the Maginot was carrying five forms of dangerous extraterrestrial life, including one of the emblematic xenomorphs of the franchise, in Weyland-Yutani, Kavalier gets potentially fatal extraterrestrials for experimental purposes.
Whoever saw a Stranger Film – or even a Jurassic One – knows that playing with things you don’t completely understand is a disaster recipe. Whatever the consequences, the arrogant and supposedly “genius” Kavalier kavalier is determined to find the secrets of bio-armes in the Hulu and Disney + TV original.
If the important and rebellious personality of Kavalier seems familiar, you may remember supposedly “ technological revolutionaries ” which, like Kavalier, affirm that their technological progress is for the benefit of humanity despite their use.
Need examples? How about the strange nature of the Tesla Bots valley of Elon Musk, which some observers compared to the terimators of the dystopian science fiction franchise created by James Cameron? What about artificial intelligence chatbots (AI), such as Chatgpt, which use the Openai software co-created by Sam Altman? Or take a look at the devouring quest for the Facebook founder and meta-CE-PDG, Mark Zuckerberg, to make metovers a real thing.
For what it is worth, Blenkin rejected – or, rather, turning greatly – the idea that all or part of the above, or any other technology guru, influenced his representation of Kavalier.
Nevertheless, he also indicated that projects written by the creator of the Noah Hawley series (Fargo,, Legion) are often a comment on people who have been in the eyes of the public for a few years and / or on the constantly evolving nature of our own world. In the opinion of Blenkin, it is therefore possible that the characters of the franchise inaugural television program are roughly influenced by certain people who currently exist.
“I think Noah did such a good job by painting a lively character,” said Blenkin. “Like all of Noah’s characters, they clearly have shutters of the substance we are faced today and what resonates at the moment.
“But what I like is that he [Kavalier] With very specific manners and obsessions, “Blenkin continued”.[He has] This obsession with Peter Pan, he never wears shoes or socks, he has a little ball on which he launches, his duration of attention is lacking, and he has an obsession with childhood innocence and childhood assimilated to the type of genius [he is] And to see himself as a boy who has never grown up.
“He is able to break the rules and not be held in the same story as an adult with this kind of morality,” he added. “Everything that was written about it was so alive on the page, so I somehow let the rest of the character sons take care of themselves.”
