Pakistani vice-premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs, senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, arrived in New York for an official a week visit, where he will launch diplomatic commitments from Pakistan as president of the United Nations Security Council.
During his stay from July 21 to 28, DAR should lead high -level signature events at the UN headquarters, reflecting the current role of Islamabad leadership within the Security Council.
His visit will also include bilateral and multilateral meetings in New York and Washington, DC, aimed at strengthening foreign relations in Pakistan.

Dar will represent Pakistan at the international conference on the two-state solution, a high-level event co-organized by Saudi Arabia and France, which seeks to rerive international support for the Palestinian State.
When he arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Dar was received by the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations and the Pakistan ambassador to the United States.

As part of its commitments, DAR will chair a high -level open debate on “the promotion of international peace and security by multilateralism and the peaceful settlement of disputes”, which aims to strengthen diplomacy and mediation as vital tools to resolve global conflicts.
It is also about to chair the open quarterly debate of the Council on the “situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question”, reaffirming Pakistan’s long-standing support to resolve international disputes extended by dialogue and consensus.
In addition, Dar will chair a special CSNU briefing to improve cooperation between the United Nations and the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OCI), with the aim of strengthening synergy between multilateral institutions in the pursuit of world peace and security.
