Ishaq Dar to embark on an official two -day trip to Hong Kong

The Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar will undertake a two-day visit to Hong Kong on Thursday to attend the signing ceremony for the creation of the International Mediation Organization (Iomed).

During his visit, Dar will officially sign the Convention on the creation of the IOM and pronounce an address during the ceremony on May 30. He must also hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event, according to the press release published Wednesday by the Foreign Office.

“Pakistan believes that peace and security, as well as global prosperity, can be promoted and preserved by strict membership in the principles of the United Nations Charter, the faithful implementation of the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and international law,” he said.

He added that mediation, diplomacy, dialogue and international cooperation remain key pillars of the Pakistan foreign policy approach.

Pakistan joins the OOMED as one of its founding members, stressing its commitment to the peaceful resolution of international disputes.

“Pakistan remains strongly favorable to the objectives and objectives of the International Mediation Organization, recognizing its potential for peaceful and peaceful settlement of international disputes,” added the press release.

Last week, Dar visited Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, following an escalation with India.
