Islamabad, Ankara calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza

Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkiye, Hakan Fidan.

The two leaders strongly condemned the in progress in Israel in Gaza and expressed serious concerns concerning the deepening of the humanitarian disaster, in particular famine, forced displacement and the loss of innocent lives.

They underlined the urgency of unhindered humanitarian aid, an immediate cease-fire and international efforts united for just, durable and complete peace.

Expressing unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their right cause, they hoped for significant results from the International Conference on the implementation of the two -state solution, which will be held today at the UN.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Civil Defense Agency said fires of the Israeli army had killed 27 Palestinians, including 12 near the aid distribution areas.

However, Jordanian and Emiratis planes dropped food in Gaza on Sunday, while Israel began a limited “tactical break” in military operations to allow UN and assistant agencies to tackle a deepened hunger crisis.

The UN emergency rescue coordinator, Tom Fletcher, welcomed the tactical breaks, saying that he was in “contact with our teams on the ground that will make as much as possible to reach as many hungry people as possible in this window”.
