Islamabad has adjourned the hearing in the PTI demonstration, electoral cases

An Islamabad anti-terrorism court heard several cases against Pakistani leaders in Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) on Monday, including those related to the November 26 demonstration, the alleged electoral rigging and the Azadi March demonstrations.

Judge Tahir Abbas Supra presided over the procedure and pointed out that the ministry of Law had not yet responded to his letter concerning the founder of the PTI. He said a recall would be sent today, urging the state to clarify if it was a question of continuing these cases.

The court marked the accused’s presence and postponed the hearings. Copies of the Challan were distributed in the case of the Kohsar police station, while requests for exemption from the appearance were filed by the heads of PTI Omar Ayub and Ali Nawaz Awan.

Judge Supra pointed out that Omar Ayub “usually steals but only falls ill when he is summoned to court”, to which the defense lawyer replied that the mentioned video was old, not recent.

The court postponed the hearings in several cases: the case of the Sangjani police station until September 22, the Shehzad Town affair until September 29, the Azadi case in March of the Sangjani police station until October 13 and the case of the midday police station until October 11.
