Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif revealed on Friday that Pakistan would host the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO) in 2027, ordering the city administration to start preparations in advance.
Speaking during the inauguration of the T-chowk overview project, the Prime Minister said that preparations included the construction of new housing and the embellishment of the capital. He mentioned that Tajikistan has gifted young trees and that the ADC and other teams work on planting efforts.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said the T-chowk overflight project would be a historic development for residents of twin cities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad and their surroundings.
He noted that the proposed railway car project would facilitate travel more for the inhabitants of twin cities, adding that the government would ensure a quality of development of development projects.
The Prime Minister said that one kilometer overflow at the junction of road T and the Islamabad Express highway would considerably facilitate traffic between twin cities and neighboring areas.
During the ceremony, the Minister of the Interior, Naqvi, said that the overview of T-CHOWK would be completed within 150 days, with the highest quality standards guaranteed.
During a briefing, the Prime Minister was informed that the project would cost 1.495 billion rupees and should reduce daily traffic for 41,572 vehicles.
The project officially starts on Friday and is expected to be completed by February 9, 2026. The project is under construction on the existing available land without the need for land acquisition and is funded by self -financing by the ADC.
The Islamabad motorway project has already been completed, but it has been decided that the formal inauguration would take place once the final segment (T -flying) has been finished, noted the minister.
He congratulated the capital Development Authority (CDA), Nespak and other stakeholders relevant to the design of the T-CHOWK TV project in a way that no acquisition of additional land was required, which saves 7 billion rupees in the process.
