As the holidays approach, you can expect many countdowns or Advent calendars to be released. We’ve already seen the latest releases from Lego, which have been difficult to keep in stock, but Disney Store may have just raised the bar.
This one alone blew me away as a Star Wars fan, and we’re exclusively revealing the Disney Store’s Star Wars Miniature Legacy Lightsaber Hilts Countdown Calendar. It’s a product that lives up to its name, since hidden behind paper boxes straight out of the Star Wars universe is a lightsaber emblematic of the franchise.
While it’s not a full 24-day countdown, it’s 12 days filled with intrigue, as you won’t know until you open it whether you score Yoda’s iconic green saber or Darth Vader’s red saber. It will likely be at the top of the list for many Star Wars fans – and not just for the holiday season.
I’ll explain why this is the case below, but let’s talk about the all-important price and launch date. The Star Wars Miniature Legacy Lightsaber Hilts Countdown Calendar will be available to order tomorrow, October 20, 2025, for $99.99, and if you’re in the UK it can be ordered now for £90. That works out to about $12 per mini lightsaber hilt per display case. So while it may be more expensive than a typical countdown kit, it’s in line with general Star Wars collectibles.
Lego is taking a fun approach with its Star Wars Advent calendar, and I’m tempted to open mine before the holidays. You might be like me and also use it to countdown to a trip to Galaxy’s Edge, Star Wars land at Disneyland, or Disney World.
Once unboxed, you’ll find each of the lightsabers in a Star Wars-style crate, complete with a card showing who used the lightsaber and other key details. Maybe they were transported on the Millennium Falcon or kept in a storage bay on the Death Star! The display case is clear and each display case connects to the others that you unbox for easy display.
After unpacking all 12, you can stack them four high and three wide. Although they don’t light up, make a sound, or include the lighted blade, the level of detail on each hilt – and the broad representation of Star Wars characters – is sure to delight fans. The included lightsaber hilts have been used by Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Ben Solo, Kylo Ren, Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia, Rey, Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker.
If you’re looking for a Christmas gift or just want to add to your droid figure collection, the Disney Store’s upcoming Droid Factory figure is launching alongside this countdown calendar. This time it’s DJR-3X, who was originally a pilot and now DJs in Oga’s Cantina at Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and Disney World.
This droid comes in classic packaging and has a few moving parts, but more importantly, it matches the DJ cut seen in the parks, with good weather resistance. The Droid Factory DJR-3X figure will also be available tomorrow for $14.99 at the Disney Store.
