While everyone is talking about the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra’s awesome privacy screen, I’m currently losing my mind over the improved Super Steady video mode with horizontal lock. It’s basically a digital gimbal inside your smartphone.
As announced by Samsung and announced during Galaxy Unpacked in February 2026, this new mode, an upgrade from the previous Super Steady motion control mode, can lock your video on a smooth horizontal plane, even if you rotate the camera 360 degrees.
While I was filming, I turned the S26 Ultra from side to side. Then I rotated it 180 degrees and finally 360 degrees, while shooting video.
To show the results, I combined the iPhone 17 Pro Max clips and Galaxy S26 Ultra images into one amazing TikTok.
The results are truly shocking. I’m not saying that the video doesn’t move at all. It bounces a bit, but never tilts left or right, let alone flips, even if I turned the phone over.
Compare this to the iPhone 17 Pro Max’s Action video setting, which is able to smooth out jagged videos, but if I turn the camera left, right, or tilt it nearly 180 degrees, it’s reflected in the final video.
I still have a long way to go in my Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra review process, but the results of this test are undeniably impressive.
