We were patiently waiting for Outlander: Blood of My Blood finale, but unsurprisingly, it’s season 2 that we need to pay attention to. Lucky for us, production has been underway since the first season began airing, so it shouldn’t be long before we have the episodes for ourselves.
So far, the hit Starz series has come closest to a potential Stranger crossover – at least, if the trailer for episode 10 is to be believed. Henry (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia (Hermione Corfield) are still going through the worst of times after their long separation, with Brian (Jamie Roy) now free from the grip of his horribly cruel father. Ellen (Harriet Slater) hopes not to have to marry Malcolm Grant (Simon Merrells).
We still need answers heading into Season 2, which is scheduled for release in early 2026, but we’ll likely end up with more questions than we already have. Details are being closely guarded, but Irvine and Corfield told me that Season 2 would be “absolutely not what we expected.” Plot!
‘Wild’ Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2 is something we don’t expect, say the cast
Look on it
“You’ll see your characters at the end of Season 1, and then where they start in Season 2 is really not what you expect,” Irvine said. “I wasn’t expecting it. I was very confused when I went for my first costume fitting and saw the costumes, wondering, ‘What the hell is this going to be used for?’
What that means I cannot say. We know that of our four main characters, Henry and Julia are in the biggest trouble, so it makes sense that they have the most convoluted plot heading into the new episodes.
If the cast has anything to say, they probably aren’t entirely sure either — Season 1 filmed four alternate endings, and they have no idea which one will be used until tonight.
“We received our scripts while we were shooting the previous block,” Corfield explains. “We are currently doing blocks one and two [of season 2]and we won’t start seeing the block three scripts until we’re almost done with block two, so you’re constantly learning where your character is going. In fact, we have no idea what really awaits us.
Irvine adds: “We filmed about four different endings for the first season, so we still haven’t seen which one they chose in the final cut.” With the final edit now complete, this could have changed.
But even so, we have a real mystery on our hands, tonight and in Season 2…so get ready.
